Art is something I have always loved but have not always been good at. In college, I found myself sitting alone in my dorm room staring at the wall to pass the time. My wall was boring and blank- that old eggshell color every dorm room is painted. I went home and bought acrylic paint from the nearest craft store, and spent hours sitting at my parents’ kitchen table painting doodles to cover my wall. It only grew from there.
For the holidays, I asked for an art set - and my family delivered. I began painting canvas with acrylic paint. At some point, that wasn't enough and I began taking art classes out of the basement of a local facility. My teacher introduced me to multiple mediums, where I realized charcoal and oil paint most aligned with my process.
Once I picked up my first tube of oil paint, I never put it down.
