Artist Bio: Timothy Prewitt is around. Abound. Carbon and Oxygen. Manifesting into a smaller version of this form 35 or so years ago, spending most of my youth in and around Cynthiana, Kentucky. The zombies are real here and the gents are fried with the changes observed in this short, but oh so very long, period of existence. Creation is nothing more than allowing what is already there to take shape through you. Every medium is large to me and I would very much like to wear them all.

Artist Statement: Words cannot express.
They try, as we will.
Art is the soul.
I want to touch it.

Artist Bio: Living What She Loves!
Oil painter, Diane Young, was born in Waynesburg, Kentucky.

From an early age she began to seek beauty and peaceful places which call one to come and look, in the forest, by a quiet creek, even in cow country. This is where her journey began and her heart’s desire to be a landscape painter was birthed.

Since then Diane has spent daily hours in the field observing nature, the effects of light, changing atmosphere and the spirit of the place. She has painted hundreds of paintings in the outdoors while looking at the scenes that make her heart sing. She works to paint believable paintings which take the viewer to that very spot by orchestrating the right elements so that you may even feel the breeze! When you look at her painting you want to walk through them as she did, to see the beauty and be at peace!

Diane has deepened her understanding by studying master painters; Willard Metcalf, Edward Redfield and Hugh Bolton Jones. She values the plein air and realist painters of the turn of the century. Her favorite painters are from this era!

Her passion to paint keeps her going and keeps her growing. This relentless passion to produce beautiful paintings has become her most treasured gift. She longs to share it with others!

Artist Statement: I love to paint! I want to take a scene from nature and bring it alive on canvas. I am challenged to take my art to a farther level with every new work. This is because something in me pushes me to, to satisfy a deep desire create art. I hope my works bring these who view it, joy and peace!

Artist Bio: I’m a small town photographer who started taking photos 25 years ago of seniors who couldn’t afford to have the “professional”shoot. It was from there that I watched every You Tube video on photography and took my camera everywhere I went. Weddings, families, pets and nature I love shooting them all. Several years ago I started a 501c3 non profit animal rescue, HOPE FUR HOMES. It began when I walked into our county shelter and shot a few pics of some cats in cages and posted them and the next day they were adopted. I’m not what you would think of as an “animal lover” but I hate seeing animals suffer or abused. It was during during Covid lockdown that I started painting every morning while I ate breakfast. I would scribble on some watercolor paper and turn that scribble into a painting of a cat or dog. I’ve called my morning paintings, “Poptart Art.” I have taken several paintings and made them into notecards where proceeds go to HOPE FUR HOMES who helps abandoned and abused animals in our community.
My happy place is when I am creating bright colored paintings of cats and dogs, capturing a memory for a family w my camera or taking someone’s junk and turning it into a treasure.

Artist Statement: Just start doing it.

Artist Bio: My earliest memories are of my father drawing and my mother sewing. Creativity was encouraged. Expression was supported. My only art education comes from my high school art teacher. Jill Branham East nurtured my God-given talent with a solid foundation of technique, a dash of adventure and a sprinkling of magic.
I currently reside in Harrison County with my family. I am a creative who takes existing materials and recycles them into a story. It is my hope that my pieces inspire others to do the ssame.

Artist Statement: It's all about how it feels.
I am drawn to textiles, paper mache, wire, and stones because of how they feel in my hands. My pieces are touchable and have themes of sensory experiences such as rain on bare skin. Each pice is created from a deep need to connect. I consider the piece to be alive as long as it is inspiring feedback. The biggest thrill for me as an artist is creating a piece that ignites the desire within another human to share their story.

Bio: I am a retired teacher, and I call Bourbon County home. I grew up in Illinois. After graduating from Purdue, I created pottery for a few years. When I moved to Kentucky I lived on a farm, and I dabbled in pottery at University of Kentucky community art classes and a local studio in Lexington. As a mother and teacher I put pottery aside, but with the blessings that retirement that brings one of them is more time for clay!

Describe why you would like to be part of the Boyd's Station Artist Guild: I am excited to learn more about your community, and meet community members. Harrison County is a special place to me, as I have two daughters and grandchildren that reside in the county. Artists supporting artists, make us all richer in our lives and our work. Harrison County is very lucky to have Boyd's Station, and I enthusiastically support it and would like to be more involved.

Do you belong to any art associations/societies?: Presently I am a member of Hopewell Creative Guild in Paris which support artists in many mediums.

Bio: After graduating from the University of Kentucky’s Journalism program in May of 2023, I began working as the Regional Editor of three newspapers serving central Kentucky. Passionate about art, life, people and their stories, my feelings are often too big to express with words. At my job, I spend my day focusing on the facts and truths of our world. But once I’m off the clock, I can use my time to express my feelings in a more tangible, less concrete way. Art helps me understand myself in a way words will never.

Describe why you would like to be part of the Boyd's Station Artist Guild: I want to have more of a space and community where my creativity and artistic expression can be fostered. I have only been making art for three years, so I still have a lot of learning to do. Being around other artists who care so much about their expression and have more experience understanding themselves will help me grow as an artist, as a writer and as a person.
