TIM DILLON GRANT FOR VISUAL STORYTELLING

Announcing the annual $3000 Tim Dillon Grant for Visual Storytelling awarded through Boyd’s Station Project 306.36 student documentary program.

Tim was a career photojournalist known for his kind and generous spirit. Much of his career was spent at USA TODAY where he covered the White House, Congress, and wherever else his editors sent him.

The annual Dillon Grant will be awarded to a student to participate in a 12-week intensive visual documentary program taking part in the Boyd’s Station Project 306.36 documentary program to photograph the people and culture of Harrison County, Kentucky while benefiting from world-class mentoring in conjunction with the Reinke Grant for Visual Storytelling and the Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship.

The Tim Dillon Grant for Visual Storytelling provides a unique one-of-a-kind opportunity for photojournalists to expand their skills and develop the tools to sustain a career in journalism and documentary photography.

Continuing in the documentary tradition of the Farm Security Administration pictorial project’s recording of American life between 1935 and 1944, photographs taken by Project 306.36’s The Dillon Grant recipients will become an important historical record of the people and places inside the 306.36 square miles of Harrison County, Kentucky.

This grant will be funded by annual donations from Tim’s friends, family, colleagues, and admirers. Contributions can be made online at https://www.boydsstation.org/support or by clicking on the above link. Please be sure to note your support is to be directed to the The Tim Dillon Grant for Visual Storytelling.
