BOYD'S STATION | FOUNDING BOARD OF DIRECTOR 

Mary Elizabeth Withers, 69, passed away in 2018 at her home on her beloved farm in Boyd, Kentucky.  Mary was instrumental in the founding of Boyd’s Station serving as one of the founding board of directors. Mary was a passionate supporter of her church, the arts, education and Harrison County, Kentucky. 

 

 

THE FINE PRINT

  • All Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship applications must be submitted on or before the application deadline of Monday, January 6, 2025.

  • Provide one single URL to the specific creative work on which your application is based. Include up to 3 MAXIMUM examples of your creative works.

  • Please provide a link to your resume in either PDF or WORD format.

  • We welcome self-motivated student journalists and creative writers focused on journalistic writing.

  • Candidates are reviewed and recommended by the Boyd's Station Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship selection committee. The committee looks for candidates who are likely to benefit from selection as The Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship to achieve personal and professional goals.

  • We recommend looking at the Mary Withers Rural Writing Fellowship alumni page to see the scope and work done by past fellows.

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older during the grant period. NOTE: Students 20 years of age are encouraged to apply as long as the student will be 21 during the fellowship period in 2025.
